Senior: Important Dates

Senior Video:   March 2nd
Pictures are needed of each and every senior.  A video will be show at the Senior Luncheon highlighting the seniors.  In order to be in the video, each senior must submit 4 to 5 pictures for the video: a suggestion is to have one as a baby/toddler, one each from elementary, middle school, and high school/senior year.  If you have any group pictures that include others from the senior class, please include them.  We prefer receiving pictures on a jump drive or CD.  However, we can scan original photos.  Everything you turn in will be returned to you.  Turn in your pictures/CD/jump drive labeled with your name to the library by March 2nd.

Senior Trip Payment:   March 15th
Pay Mrs. Holiday in the Library before March 15th - $40.00. Senior Trip is April 3rd to Insane Paintball in Chattanooga.  Departure at 7:00 am, be at the school at 6:30 am and will return by 6:00 pm,  We will take buses from the THS parking lost.  Breakfast and snacks will be provided.  We will eat at Hamilton Shopping Center after paintball.  You will be responsible for this and any other expenses you may want to incur.  We will pay paintball for 2-3 hours.  You will be provided a full coverage head mask and 300 paintballs, but you may purchase more at your expense.  They are a softer paintball.  It is recommended to wear long sleeve shirt and pants.  Bring an extra pair of clothes to change into prior to use going to Hamilton Place.  You must have a permission slip/release form (available on-line and in the library) when you pay to go on the trip.  When the buses are full, you will go on a waiting list - so sign up early!  NO REFUNDS. Checks made payable to THS.  Trip is April 3rd.

         Mentor Meeting: March 5th

Mu Alpha Theta: March 16th
Deadline for Mu Alpha Theta.  Service hours must be completed and verified by this date 

Senior Luncheon Payment: April 20th
Pay Mrs. Holiday in the library - beginning in April.  Payment is $19.00 and due April 20th.  Checks made payable to THS.  Seniors will provide their own transportation.  Luncheon is optional.  The senior lunch is for students only - not parents.  We will look back at the last four years with a video.  Menu: Grilled Italian Marinated Chicken Breast Tenderloins, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Southern Style Slow Cooked Green Beans, Salad, Roll, Tea/Coffee or Water and Chocolate Mousse with Whipped Cream and Garnish.  If you wish to have a vegetarian meal, tell us when you pay.  The luncheon will be May 23rd at Manchester Coffee County Conference Center.

Senior Trip: April 3rd
Insane Painball in Chattanooga

No School: April 3rd
Juniors will attend for ACT test
Sophomore will attend to take the pre-ACT
Seniors are encouraged to use as job shadowing, college visit, and scholarship prep day if not attending senior trip

Prom: April 7th
Tullahoma High School Gym from 8pm to midnight
Cost is $40.00 a person ($50 for a guest who is not a THS student).  Tickets will be sold during the month of February at a discount price of $30.00.  Tickets are available in the library.  No tickets at the door.  Only high school students or older my attend.  Deadline to purchase a ticket is April 6, at 1 pm.

Jostens to deliver Cap/Gown: April 11th
Statements should have been delivered via mail by this date.  Cash or money order only on April 11th.  NO CHECKS OR CREDIT CARDS on delivery day.  Please pay in advance by mailing payments to Jostens.  If you do not receive a statement from Jostens, please see the main office.  Cap and gowns are $36.77.

The Follow-up, Scholarship, and 
        Final Transcript Forms: April 13th
All forms are due in Counseling Office with transcript fee of $2.00 per transcript.  The forms will be emailed to seniors and are also made available on the THS website.

NHS Scholarship: April 13th

Senior Yearbook Ads: April 13th
Obtain proper form for yearbook ad

Unpaid Fee Payment: April 13th
April 13th by 3pm all unpaid fees must be paid.  This includes holds on records for lost and/or damaged textbooks, cafeteria charges or any other unpaid charges.  Diplomas will be held for unpaid charges.

Distinction and Honor Stoles: April 13th
Distinction Stoles ($21.50) and Honor Stoles ($9.00) must be paid in the Counseling Office by April 13th.

Honors Diploma (Qualify for Honors tassel) - A list of those who qualified for Honors Diploma will be posted on the Guidance Office door.
Students who score at or above ALL of the subject area readiness benchmarks on the ACT or equivalent score on the SAT will graduate with honors

Diploma of Distinction (Qualify for Distinction Stole) A list of those who qualified for stole will be posted on the Guidance Office door.
Students will be recognized as graduating with "distinction" by attaining a B average and completing at least one of the following:
  • earn a nationally recognized industry certification
  • participate in one of the state's All State musical organizations
  • participate in at least one of the Governor's Schools
  • be selected as a National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist
  • attain a score of 31 or higher composite score on the ACT
  • attain a score of 3 or higher on at least two advanced placement exams
  • successfully compete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
  • earn 12 or more semester hours of transcripted postsecondary credit
*Please be advised that these guidelines were not determined by Tullahoma High School or Tullahoma City Schools.  New guidelines are a component of diploma requirements for the State of Tennessee as set forth by the Tennessee State Board of Education.

Senior Exams: May 21st and 22nd
Senior Exams will be given on these two days.  Exams should be given to Seniors only.  We will be on regular schedule both days.  Seniors who are exempt from an exam do not need to attend that class.

Graduation Practice: May 23rd
9:00am to 11:00am in THS Auditorium:  Make plans to be present.  Instructions for graduation will be handed out.  Only graduates that meet requirements and wear appropriate attire 
*(as deemed by the THS Administration) are allowed to participate in graduation)

Graduation Tickets (8 per senior) will be available for pickup at graduation practice.  Tickets will be given to the graduate only. The graduate will sign for tickets.  Graduation tickets are to be used only in case of rain due to limited seating in the gym.

Senior Walk: May 24th
12:00pm . Seniors report to THS at 12pm and will travel by bus to the local elementary schools

THS Graduation: May 25th
7:30pm @ Wilkins Stadium:  Seniors are to be in line @ 7pm properly dressed

*ATTIRE:  If you are not properly dressed, you will not walk in the graduation ceremony.  No Flip Flops, No Blue Jeans, No Holes, No Exceptions.

Girl's Dress:  Girls will wear dresses or dark dress pants and dress shoes.  Be sure that you have the collar sewn onto your gown before arriving at school.

Boy's Dress:  Boys will war a white dress shirt with collar, tie, dark dress pants, and dress shoes and socks.  Mr. English or Mr. Moore will be happy to assist tying ties.

Project Graduation: May 25th
Sponsored by the Project Graduation parent committee.   This optional activity is the THS graduates to enjoy an evening of fun in a safe environment.  Sign up through Project Graduation.  Food, fun, games begin at 10:30pm to early morning.

Motlow Scholarship
For student's planning to attend college beginning this fall semester (August 2018).  Student MUST have a Motlow admissions application already submitted and processed in order to complete the scholarship application.
Deadline is March 15th.

UTC - The Marjorie Watson Mathematics Scholarship
Majoring in Math?  $5000 scholarship.  
Deadline is March 15th.

MTSU Department of Biology Scholarship
Open to outstanding incoming freshmen student majoring in Biology who have a demonstrated interest in the life sciences with career goals in the biological sciences.  In order to receive an award, a student must have a minimum composite ACT score of 25 and a minimum high school GPA of 3.5.  Applications in the Counseling Office.  
Deadline is March 31st.

Nissan North American, Inc (NNA) Scholarship Award
Six scholarships will be awarded for students to attend the Shelbyville or Fayetteville branch of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology.
To be eligible, a student must be a senior with an overall grade point average (GPA) at or above 2.5, or its equivalent, who has been enrolled in a high school vocational curriculum.
Applications are available in the Counseling Office.
Deadline is March 23rd. Recipients will be notified April 2018

Ned McWherter Scholars Program
Visit site to apply.  Must have 29 or higher on ACT & GPA of 3.5 or higher to qualify.  Could receive up to $6,000 per academic year in scholarship funds.

Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors Scholarship
Available in the Counseling Office
Qualify if plan to attend college in one of the eight (8) MTAR counties (Bedford, Cannon, Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, Marion, Moore, & Rutherford)
