Senior: Important Dates

Senior Luncheon Payment: April 20th
Pay Mrs. Holiday in the library - beginning in April.  Payment is $19.00 and due April 20th.  Checks made payable to THS.  Seniors will provide their own transportation.  Luncheon is optional.  The senior lunch is for students only - not parents.  We will look back at the last four years with a video.  Menu: Grilled Italian Marinated Chicken Breast Tenderloins, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Southern Style Slow Cooked Green Beans, Salad, Roll, Tea/Coffee or Water and Chocolate Mousse with Whipped Cream and Garnish.  If you wish to have a vegetarian meal, tell us when you pay.  The luncheon will be May 23rd at Manchester Coffee County Conference Center.

       Graduation Cords: May 4th
$12.00 due May 4th: Gold Cord for graduation due to Mrs. Vannatta.  No refunds for any reason.

NHS/Mu Alpha Theta/National English
       Honor Society Induction: May 10th
6:00pm in THS Auditorium:  Students qualifying for this honor will receive an invitation.

Senior Exams: May 21st and 22nd
Senior Exams will be given on these two days.  Exams should be given to Seniors only.  We will be on regular schedule both days.  Seniors who are exempt from an exam do not need to attend that class.

May 22nd    2nd and 4th block exams
May 23rd     makeup exams

Senior Luncheon: May 23rd
12:00pm @ Coffee County Conference Center

Graduation Practice: May 23rd
9:00am to 11:00am in THS Auditorium:  Make plans to be present.  Instructions for graduation will be handed out.  Only graduates that meet requirements and wear appropriate attire 
*(as deemed by the THS Administration) are allowed to participate in graduation)

Graduation Tickets (8 per senior) will be available for pickup at graduation practice.  Tickets will be given to the graduate only. The graduate will sign for tickets.  Graduation tickets are to be used only in case of rain due to limited seating in the gym.

Senior Walk: May 24th
12:00pm . Seniors report to THS at 12pm and will travel by bus to the local elementary schools

THS Graduation: May 25th
7:30pm @ Wilkins Stadium:  Seniors are to be in line @ 7pm properly dressed

*ATTIRE:  If you are not properly dressed, you will not walk in the graduation ceremony.  No Flip Flops, No Blue Jeans, No Holes, No Exceptions.

Girl's Dress:  Girls will wear dresses or dark dress pants and dress shoes.  Be sure that you have the collar sewn onto your gown before arriving at school.

Boy's Dress:  Boys will war a white dress shirt with collar, tie, dark dress pants, and dress shoes and socks.  Mr. English or Mr. Moore will be happy to assist tying ties.

Project Graduation: May 25th
Sponsored by the Project Graduation parent committee.   This optional activity is the THS graduates to enjoy an evening of fun in a safe environment.  Sign up through Project Graduation.  Food, fun, games begin at 10:30pm to early morning.

UpComing Scholarships

Summer Bridge Program
The Summer Bridge Program application is OPEN NOW!  This is a free three-week program offered at all 13 community colleges designed to help incoming students starts on a more college-ready level.  This program is for any student needing a learning support class.  Each day, students receive reading, English and math instruction as well as attend a college success lunch and learn, where lunch will be provided.  On the last day of the program, students have a chance to test out of learning support courses.  It is a great opportunity with limited space, so sign up today!  For details and dates, please click here.


TN Scholars Applications
If you plan to attend one of the following schools and have completed 80+ hours of volunteer service, stop by Ms. Fleming's office and pick up an application for the TN scholars application.
  1. Trevecca University $20,000
  2. Union University $1,500 per year for 4 years (All Tennessee Scholars)
  3. Cumberland University $1,500 per year (All TN Scholars)
  4. Bryan College in Dayton $500
  5. Cleveland State in Cleveland $1,500
  6. Roane State Community College $500
  7. Mountain Empire Community College in Scott County, VA (Full)
  8. Volunteer State University $1,500 per year
  9. Lee University $2,500
  10. Students should ask all TN Schools financial aid directors if they give funding for TN Scholars.  Some will and some do not.

Tims Ford Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America Scholorship

Ned McWherter Scholars Program
Visit site to apply.  Must have 29 or higher on ACT & GPA of 3.5 or higher to qualify.  Could receive up to $6,000 per academic year in scholarship funds.

  1. Click Scholarships on Motlow's home page near the top in the rotating info box regarding scholarships
  2. Click on the A-Z index on the home page and scroll down to the S's then select Scholarship Opportunities
  3. In the student's MyMotlow account under their Student tab
NOTE: student's will need Motlow e-mail username & password to sign in and complete application.  Must also have official transcript sent to Motlow that includes fall grades and GPA.
